These podcasts consist mainly of interviews with successful entrepreneurs who share their stories about their inspirations to become a business owner, their challenges and struggles, unique experiences, and the things they learned along the way that has led to their success.

Episode 195: Henry Woodman
Henry is a hedonistic and opportunistic entrepreneur who speaks three languages. In 1976, as a teenager, he went in search of a lost city in the jungles of Honduras. In 1980 he built a business in college, setting up video game machines in laundromats. In 1984 Henry and his partner formed WoodMark Productions to purse two of his passions — film production and travel. After a decade of travels, he settled in Santiago, Chile for two years to produce Machos, a local game show for the younger demographic. Henry also built a global tech platform and at present he is creating a TV series from the book The Reincarnation of Marie.

Ishani is a senior at High Technology High School in Lincroft, NJ. In today’s ”Theme” program we continue our discussion about Marketing. Joining us is Jen Houser, our Marketing expert, and a former guest on our podcast (Episode 126). Episode 177: Frank Ciarcia
Frank began his career in Labor Relations Consulting, then after a brief time in Venezuela returned to the US to begin a 40-year entrepreneurial journey in the metal finishing business. When that company closed in 2023, he began a new venture in M&A, focusing on acquiring businesses, largely in the manufacturing space. Frank enjoys discussing business with entrepreneurs which has also led to some consulting, helping owners improve their operations.

Episode 176: Themes: Marketing – Part 1
This week we discuss our experiences with Marketing, and entrepreneurs who don’t fully understand the importance, the process, the value and the tools. Episode 174: Themes: Implementation Plans
So, you’ve done your research, you’ve done great planning, you’ve nailed a strong UBI and USP, you’ve identified your target market and you’re ready to launch your business, right? Not so fast you trailblazer! Now you must think through and plan the proper sequence of events to launch your business wisely and successfully. If you’ve done Zero Based Budgeting, this plan is close to complete already, but if not, think about sequence, think about priorities, think about timing, think about expense, and plan your launch carefully to make sure you do it right. This program discusses these ideas and provides examples that will help.

Episode 173: Bob Phinney
Bob established New England Sci-Tech as a non-profit STEM Education Center and Maker Space in Natick Massachusetts in 2018. He had previously taught for 38 years at a private K-12 school in Brookline, Massachusetts before retiring. He is a graduate of Harvard where he studied architecture, art, and science. Over much of his teaching career Bob has also been director of IT, director of a summer science camp, and teacher of classical Latin language, but he has also taught photography, algebra, English, chemistry, graphic design, programming, woodworking, electronics, amateur radio licensing courses, astronomy, model rocketry, and archery. Most of these subjects are now offered at New England Sci-Tech.

Episode 172: Alison Ver Halen
Alison majored in English and Psychology without realizing she was getting the perfect degree for content marketing. It wasn’t until a few years after she graduated, when a family friend asked her to write blog posts for his law firm, that she realized she could make money doing what she loves. Fast forward to today and Alison is still writing blog posts, as well as website landing pages and emails, but also integrates SEO and marketing strategy into the content she writes to give her clients their best chance of attracting, engaging, and converting their ideal clients.

Episode 161: Donald Gleason
In 2020 Don started a non-profit with a partner, focused on helping military spouses and veterans in their career transitions from the military to non-military life. They explored the concept, thought about it further, then went straight to a beta test and starting the business without first forming the non-profit. Over the next 3 years they could not agree on the partnership formation or dissolution, roles and responsibilities, fundraising methods, customer service processes or business metrics. Episode 145: Kimberly Miner

None of us have all the skills necessary to flawlessly run a thriving business. so it essential that you figure out what support and services you need to hire, or contract, in order for your business to succeed at the highest level. Too many entrepreneurs get this wrong, not intentionally, but because they are just not thinking enough about the customer experience. Carolyn is the owner and principal photographer for ELM Real Estate Photography. She’s been a full-time Real Estate Photographer since 2015, founding her first business in St Louis.  When the pandemic hit, she packed up the kids, the dogs, and the fish and made her way East. Once settled, she hit the ground running and started ELM Real Estate Photography.
